Cape Cod Cares for the Troops:
Cards and Letters for the Troops
We are always in need of cards and letters to place in the care packages. Please consider
writing out a few cards or letters, have your children draw pictures, ask their Girl or Boy Scout
units; schools, youth groups, sports teams, family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers
to write letters of appreciation and support. It is not too early to start on Christmas Cards : )
Cards and letters can be sent to us or dropped off at one of CCC4TT drop off sites(see web site).
Heroes T-Shirts and CCC4TT Merchandise available on the web site www.capecod4thetroops.com
We have the CC Heroes T-Shirts for sale on the web site. $5.00 from each T-Shirt will be donated
to support the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund. These are red t-shirts and great to
wear every Friday for "Support the Troops Red Shirt Fridays".
Also CCC4TT Hats, Hoodies and T-Shirts are available.
Rocky's Canine Warriors is a new program we have started to send care packages to our
military working dogs in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have started this program in honor of
Rocky...SGT Christopher Valaquez's dog who died while serving in Afghanistan. Chris came to Cape Cod
to thank Dylan for the care packages we sent to him and his unit during their year long deployment to
Afghanistan. Chris told us the story of his dog Rocky and the need for supplies for military dogs.
More information about this program will be available on the web site soon with a list of needed supplies.
Our plan is to send the first 10 Rocky's Canine Warrior Care Packages in November.
Finally and most important:
We want to thank everyone for your continued support, Dylan started this organization almost eight years
ago but the success belongs to each of you. Your support is amazing...when I think of what
we have accomplished in the last 7 years...it is overwhelming. Dylan is proof that one person can make a
difference...but he could not have done it alone. Cape Cod Cares for the Troops remains a 100% volunteer
organization. Our mission statement is and always will be to honor and support our troops serving in Iraq and
Afghanistan and support their families here at home; support our veterans, our wounded warriors and
their families; and to honor our Fallen Heroes and support our Gold Star Families.
Thank you to all who have asked about Dylan...he is now attending Ohio Tech in Cleveland.
While Dylan is away at school, CCC4TT will continue with the help of many great volunteers and our
board of directors. Of course, Dylan is being kept informed and thanks to email and
skype he will stay on top of things!!!
I know this email was long and I appreciate your taking the time to read it. Please forward this email
to anyone on your email list and remember to follow us on facebook. If you have questions about any
of the above events or need more information please send me an email or call 774.216.9052
Donations can be may via PayPal on the web site or sent to us at:

Cape Cod Cares for the Troops
The spring and summer were very busy for Cape Cod Cares for the
Troops, and the fall looks to be the same. Before we get to our upcoming
events we want to thank everyone for their support of Kitchen Aid,
Troops in the Spotlight and the Mark Vecchione Memorial Fishing Trip.
Each of these events were sucessful and your donations will allow us to
continue sending care packages to our deployed troops, help our wounded
warriors and veteans, support our Blue Star Families, honor our
"Forever Heroes" and their Gold Star Families.
Upcoming Events:
4th Annual Canal Run for the Troops (5K and 10K Runs)
Saturday October 6 at 10am, Registration 8am
at the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area(by the Train Bridge)

each age group. Free lunch, live music, raffles, t-shirts to first 150 to

We'd like to have people line the canal, wearing their Red, White

to help with the clean up would be greatly appreciated.
The money raised at the Canal Run will be used to send 1500
Christmas Care Packages to our deployed troops.

Saturday & Sunday November 17th and 18th will be the Christmas
Care Package Packing party at the Trowbridge Tavern in Bourne.
1500 Christmas Care Packages will be assembled during this two day
event. It is a great way to start the Christmas Season...lots of fun,
Christmas music, arts and crafts table for the kids, and great food, too!
We need items for the care packages & Christmas stockings. We need
Christmas cards too, we put 6-8 cards in each care package.. you could
host a card signing party or a donation drive at your house, school, church,
work place, etc.
We need monetary donations to help with the cost of shipping.

If you know if a soldier who is deployed please send us their name and
mailing address so we can add their name to our list.
In early December we will be going to Fort Belvoir Wounded Warrior
Battalion to provide Christmas gifts for our wounded warriors and their
families. Last year we provided Christmas gifts to 12 families. This year
the need is even greater. There are several single soldiers who we plan
on providing Christmas gifts. Dylan and I will be going to Fort Belvoir in
October to meet with these warriors, find out what their needs are and see
what CCC4TT can do to help. Again, this year we will partner with the
Fairfax County 911 Communication Center, for the last several years
they have sponsored some of the families and have provided new bikes
and helmets for each child on our list!!!
If you would like to help we can use monetary donations to purchase
gifts or Gift Cards to Best Buy, Walmart, the Gap, itunes, Barnes & Noble,
and AmEx, MC or Visa Gift Cards.
I know there is a need for a couple of iPads, these are not just for a
Christmas gift but are needed to help with the recovery of a few wounded
warriors. I know these are very expensive but they are greatly needed by
our wounded warriors with brain injuries as day managing
medical appointments, taking medication and simple everyday tasks
are difficult and confusing.
If someone is interested in donating one please send us an email or
call 774-216-9052.
